Social Bookmarking Sites Introduction
Social media bookmarking websites are sites in which users share their blog posts, articles, images, and videos. Such sites help to get your blog posts indexed more and increased chances of being found.
In theory, submitting your content to one (or more) of these sites allows you to gain organic traffic at no cost. If you have products to sell, they can help increase your brand awareness. Yes, it’s only theory and far from the truth.
The reality for most publishers is different; when using top 5 social media sites to gain the benefits mentioned here. I wrote this post to share my thoughts on why it’s time to find other alternative social bookmarking sites.
Popular social media sites we love.
First, you might ask. Why do I need to use lower ranked social media sites when I can access far more people in favourite places: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, and Pinterest? The answer is due to the limited visibility of your posts on such sites. Unless you accumulated a massive list of followers, the effort you put publishing content is not rewarding. To gain followers, you will need people to see your content first, Or start the paid advertising root. What do you do if you don’t have the budget to spend on advertising? You’re stuck!
Facebook limiting visibility
Facebook announced it will limit even more the visibility of posts from business pages, entertainers and publishers. In favour of content from family and friends.
The others follow the same concept of controlling your content, after all, they are in the business of making money for investors and shareholders.
You’re left with no options if you want to reach a very larger audience you will have to pay for this privilege; it’s no longer a matter of posting quality content.
What I am suggesting here; if you don’t want to pay for advertising and you want to generate organic traffic to your site. Then you need to familiarise yourself and use alternative social bookmarking sites like the ones listed here.
You will achieve a further reward /efforts ratio using the social bookmarking sites provided here.
I leave you with this picture: imagine Facebook is a massive tank of water, and Facebook controls how people connect to this tank. You’re allowed a microscopic hole to access the container with limited water flow. It makes no difference how great is the tank if you only control a narrow orifice and you demand more flow of water.
Even if the market size of Facebook users is bigger than many alternatives, it leaves no advantages to most bloggers. You have a higher chance publishing on alternative sites with a narrower container or fewer users. At least they allow you to control a bigger opening or higher flow of your content and greater visibility.
I propose as a starting point you should devote more of your time promoting your published content on alternative social bookmarking sites mentioned here:

In conclusion, I predict many lesser-known social media bookmarking sites will rise to the top as users learn about how far some big companies have gone regulating content.
Maybe losing users and publishers will force top companies to lift restrictions on content and discover a stronger formula to implement good for all sides.
